CAKE DECORATING

Debra teaches cake decorating classes

She has designed an array of  classes for the students' preference and experience.

The classes that are offered are:

Basic Decorating Class - Teaches how to bake, ice a cake smoothly, piping out figures, hearts, faces, stars,  borders, transfers of patterns to cakes, writing, roses and leaves, and vines.

Flowers & Basket Weave - You learn 8 different flowers: Daisy, Rose Bud, Pansy, Daffodil, Mum, Violet, Apple Blossom and the Primrose.You also learn how to do basket weaving with butter cream icing. This class also teaches color flow icing for color flow techniques.

Fondant & Gum Paste - This class teaches how to use, color, marbleize and cover a cake with fondant. You also learn many other techniques using fondant; figures, borders, flowers, leaves, writing and much more.

Stacked/ Tiered Elaborate and Wedding Cakes - You learn beautiful design techniques to decorate more elaborate specialty cakes. Drop strings, ruffle borders, cornelli lace, sotas, brush embroidery and more. You also learn how to stack and tier cakes.


Call or E-mail Debra for the next scheduled class at the Morton Park District Building. Or, get 6-10 students for Debra to come and teach you at your organization, church or home. The classes are usually 3 hours long and the cost of the classes are $25 per student. The student also has to bring the items on the supply list. When you sign up, you will be E-mailed a list.
